The course provides a general introduction to statistical methodologies in the life sciences. The main goal is to understand the intuition behind statistical techniques, which is essential for carrying out a meaningful data analysis.

- How to use the R statistical programming language and its plotting tools
- Foundations of probability theory, distributions
- Theory of hypothesis testing + practically important tests
- Linear modelling: ANOVA, linear regression, generalized linear models
- Nonlinear regression
- Bayesian analysis
